Agriculture Protection Area (APA) Commission

Idaho Code 67-9704 provides for the creation of a County Agriculture Protection Area (APA) Commission.

Meetings:

The Planning Department staff provides assistance to a five-member, volunteer, Board-appointed Agriculture Protection Area Commission (referred to as the APA Commission).  The APA Commission is comprised of county residents appointed by the Board of County Commissioners. APA Commission members serve a minimum three-year appointment.

The Board of County Commissioners regularly fills any vacancy in the commission. Idaho Code 67-9705 has specific criteria for members of the APA Commission. To qualify, members must be actively employed by or supporting production agriculture in the county, which also include representatives from the local soil and water conservation district board of supervisors, the local cattlemen’s association board, the county farm bureau board, an irrigation district or water users association board, or a grower/commodity association or commission board. If a position is listed as vacant and you wish to be considered, please fill out the application below and email it to planning@bonnercountyid.gov.
