Resident Phone System Information
The Bonner County Juvenile Detention Center Resident Phone System is available to all residents from 6:00PM to 9:00PM, seven (7) days a week. The same rules apply to the new system as did the former system with a few changes.
-
Residents will only be able to call parents, grandparents, and guardians unless specifically approved by the Detention Manager and/or Director.
-
All contact phone numbers must be entered into the system by detention center staff prior to the resident making calls to the number.
-
A Resident’s initial booking phone call is free, after that all calls will be paid calls.
-
Phone calls to attorney, clergy, out of County probation officers and Counselors will be at no charge.
-
Pay Phone calls will be a maximum of 20 minutes in length
-
All Pay Phone calls will be recorded to an offsite location. Calls to attorney’s and counselors will not be recorded or monitored.
-
Residents may only call those individuals who have deposited money in an account that is tied directly to the individual’s phone number. For example, if a Resident wishes to call a parent, the parent must first deposit funds in an account tied to their phone number.
-
There are 3 ways to create an account and deposit funds. Parents, grandparents or guardians may call (866)516-0115 (a Telmate number), go online at
www.telmate.com
or in person at the kiosk in the Bonner County Sheriff’s Office Lobby.
-
Any refunds for money deposited on an account will be handled directly through Telmate.
-
All Residents will have a specific PIN number that they will use when calling. This PIN number is not to be given out to other Residents. Your specific PIN will only allow a Resident to contact those telephone numbers associated with it that have been entered by detention staff. All other attempts to contact other telephone numbers will not be authorized.
-
The cost of the pre-paid telephone calls vary depending on length. There is a $1.50 charge for all calls plus $.25/min. A 10 minute call would cost $4.00 and a 20 minute call would cost $6.50. If the resident or individual depositing money chooses to do collect calls tied to a credit or debit card, Federal and State surcharges apply. These are EXPENSIVE.
-
All residents will still be offered a minimum of 2 calls per week provided they have funds in an account to call.
