Road Projects 2025
Paving Projects:
District 1 (South of the Long Bridge area):
Garfield Bay Rd - Reconstruction - Paving to begin on the dates of June, 18th, 2025 - June, 19th 2025 Shouldering work will be done tentatively on June, 23rd 2025
Vay Rd & Edgemere Cutoff - New Asphalt - Paving began 6/5/25. The paving should be complete by end of day Tuesday, June 10th. Shouldering work and driveway blending to happen on the days to follow.
Monarch Rd - New Asphalt - Paving to begin on the tentative date of June, 24th 2025. Shouldering work will be done tentatively on June, 25th 2025.
Spades Rd on the North End - New Asphalt - Paving to begin on the tentative dates of July, 7th 2025 - July, 9th 2025. Shouldering work will be done tentatively on July, 11th 2025.
District 2 (Priest Lake - Priest River area):
Eastriver Rd & Substation Cutoff from Dickensheet Rd to around White Tail Butte Rd - New Asphalt - Paving to begin Tuesday, May, 27th 2025 - (tentatively) June, 2nd 2025. Shouldering work will be done tentatively on June, 10th 2025 - June, 13th 2025.
District 3 (Sandpoint - Clark Fork area):
S Center Valley Rd, Center Valley Rd and N Center Valley Rd - New Asphalt - Paving has been done May 14th - May 21st. Shouldering work will be done tentatively on May, 27th 2025 - May, 29th 2025.
Magnesium Chloride:
District 1 (South of the Long Bridge area): 5/29/25 UPDATE: We have starting treating the road in the Spirit Lake area. Treated roads will be marked with signage. Proceed with caution and please drive accordingly.
District 2 (Priest Lake - Priest River area): 5/28/25 UPDATE: South of the river has been completed, The Priest River/Laclede area will be done this week and next, The Coolin/Nordman area will begin the 3rd week in June. Treated roads will be marked with signage. Proceed with caution and please drive accordingly.
District 3 (Sandpoint - Clark Fork area): To start this week 5/28/25. Treated roads will be marked with signage. Proceed with caution and please drive accordingly.

Bridge Projects:
Rapid Lightning Bridge #5 - This is a 2 year project that began in June 2024 near the 5900 block of Rapid Lightning Rd. The work will resume on Monday, June 2nd, 2025. We will be working on the bridge one lane at a time; as such there will only be a single lane for traffic. Expect delays. The bridge will be kept open most of the time but may need to be entirely closed for construction, in those cases detour routes will be in place.
Colburn Culver Over Grouse Creek - Construction to begin 2025
Colburn Culver Over Pack River (north end) - Construction to begin 2026.
Rapid Lightning Bridge #4 - Construction to begin 2026.
Eastshore Rd Over Hunt Creek - Construction to begin 2026 or beyond.
Merrit Bridge - Pilling Wrap Repair and Deck Epoxy 2028 or beyond.
Eastriver Loop - Currently under design stage.
Striping Projects:
District 1 (South of the Long Bridge area):
Dufort Rd, Lakeshore Dr, Vintage Rd, Mineral Ridge Rd, Granite Loop (North End), & Trails End.
District 2 (Priest Lake and Priest River area):
Dickensheet Rd, Kalispell Bay Rd, Old Priest River Rd, Peninsula Rd/Eastriver Rd, Reeder Bay Rd, & Wisconsin St (Merrit Bridge)
District 3 (Sandpoint/Clark Fork area):
Rapid Lightning Rd, Selle Rd, & Shingle Mill Rd
Culvert Projects:
Trestle Creek Rd FLAP Project (Please see Other Projects for more information) - Culverts will be installed throughout the road. - Starting 5/14/25 throughout the Summer months. We will be doing about 30 culvert replacements. Please expect delays. The road may be closed periodically as needed.
Garfield Bay Rd Rebuild - Culverts will be installed throughout the road.
Other Projects:
Spirit Lake Curves - Realigning the curves in the road by Beare Rd to make speed appropriate.
Trestle Creek Federal Lands Project FLAP - Paving, widening, and creating pullouts every 1000ft for passing purposes for Trestle Creek Rd from Highway 200 to snowmobile parking lot (approx. 3769 Trestle Creek Rd). Culverts will be installed throughout the road. - Starting 5/14/25 throughout the Summer months. We will be doing about 30 culvert replacements. Please expect delays. The road may be closed periodically as needed.
