Hearing agendas are posted seven (7) days prior to the hearing

Public Hearings may be attended in-person, or by teleconference and web-based platform

  • Public hearing is like a court proceeding
    • Staff presents staff report
    • Applicant provides overview of project, answers questions from governing body
    • Public testimony
      • Testimony in support of project
      • Neutral testimony
      • Testimony in opposition to project
          • Public testimony may be limited to 3 minutes
          • Exhibits must be numbered prior to testimony. Exhibits will be retained by the county
          • Testimony must be specific to project and code compliance
          • Avoid repetition
      • Applicant rebuttal.  No further public testimony allowed after rebuttal
      • Public hearing closed; deliberation begins
